Have you ever wondered how to stay patient while waiting for a manifestation?
The doubt… Does this work? Will the Law of Attraction work for me or only others?
The need… I want this now. I can’t wait because it’s urgent.
There’s a problem with impatience. It sends out signals to the Universe. Signals of lack.
And as you know, like attracts like. So, if you’re signaling that you lack something, you’ll get more lack. Which is the opposite of what you want.
Here are three mind tricks that can help you stay patient.
#1: Be Mindful of What You Already Have
Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, focus on what you have.
You can repeat this exercise as often as you need. Every time you begin to feel restless or impatient, mentally go through a list of things you’re grateful for. It can be things you’ve already manifested, but it doesn’t have to be.
Take a look around you.
What do you see? Flowers in your garden or on your balcony? Your bike or car outside?
Appreciate it.
Close your eyes and think of your friends and family. Think of each individual person and appreciate them. Be grateful for their presence and the joy they bring to your life.
Little things count too.
Go to your kitchen and open the cupboard. Appreciate the food you have there. Open your refrigerator and do the same.
Be mindful of your body and your health.
Think about how well your body functions. Ignore any sickness or pain and just be mindful of everything that works as it should. Or even better.
Being mindful helps to take away the focus of what you don’t have and point it to what you do have instead.
#2: Practice Mindfulness Meditation
Learn how to mediate and practice mindfulness meditation.
You can find apps that help you. Or you can simply sit in a comfortable position and focus on your breathing. It’s simple and easy.
If you’re interested in apps, here are a few you can try:
- Calm
- Headspace
- UCLA Mindful
- The Mindfulness App
- Welzen
- Mindfulness Coach
- Relax Melodies
- Take A Break
- Insight Timer
- Smiling Mind
Instead of using an app, you can listen to binaural beats or meditation music on headphones.
Then just sit. Take a deep breath in, hold the breath, breathe out.
You can practice counting while breathing.
Count to four while you’re breathing in. Hold your breath to the count of four. Then slowly exhale to the count of four. And hold the breath again to the count of four.
Close your eyes and focus on your breathing.
Now you’re practicing mindfulness meditation. It will help to train your patience and not focus on the lack you would otherwise feel right now.
#3: Smile and Feel Happy
Nothing blows away a feeling of lack like the feeling of happiness.
And interestingly, you can fake happiness till you make it. Just smile. Or laugh.
Pretend you’re happy, even if you aren’t (yet).
Trust that you’ll manifest what you aim for and that the Universe will bring it to you as fast as possible. And be happy.
Smile. Even if you’re alone. Smile at strangers.
Smile at your reflection in the mirror.
Music can create a feeling of happiness as well. Go for happy music like “The Magic Flute” by Mozart or your favorite band or song. Sing along if you can.
Or better… Get up and dance to the music.
#4: Distract Yourself
If you don’t think of what you’re trying to manifest, you won’t feel impatient.
Distracting yourself is therefore a great way to stay patient. How do you distract yourself? Here are 3 ways to do it:
Perform a Hobby You Love
What do you love doing?
Gardening? Roller skating? Or reading?
Pick your favorite pastime and engage in it.
Go all in. Don’t think of anything else than enjoying your hobby. If you find your thoughts wandering back to what you’re trying to manifest, stop.
Then either focus fully on the hobby again or do something else that will distract you.
Challenge Yourself with Games or Puzzles
When you occupy your brain with a difficult challenge, there is no room for impatience.
Play a computer game or find brain puzzles and try to solve them. Crosswords can work, too. As well as Sudoku.
Find something that really challenges you and which is fun to do at the same time.
That should distract you for a while. And when it gets boring, it’s time to watch some TV.
Watch an Exciting Series
Action, mystery, political drama…
Pick a genre that keeps you on the edge of the seat. You will think of nothing else while you’re watching. And the more you can distract yourself in this way, the less you’ll feel impatient.
#5: Journaling
Another activity that can help you stay patient is journaling.
Journal about how your life will be once you’ve manifested your desire. Write about it in present tense as if you already had it. Or even better.
Write about it in past tense as if you’ve had it for a while already and still appreciate it.
It can help you overcome any skepticism if you ask questions starting with “why.”
Like, “why am I so slender and fit?” “Why do I have so much love in my life?” “Why do I live in my dream house on the beach?”
While your brain is busy thinking about the answer to those questions, it cannot at the same time tell you that this is so wrong. You don’t have the dream body, dream spouse or dream house.
It’s impossible.
It can only focus on finding the answer to that question. And once it does, your feeling of impatience will vaporize like ice on a hot summer day.
Conclusion
You can train yourself to wait patiently, but if you need it here and now, the fastest way is to simply use one, two or all five of these mind tricks.
